Accrington won for the fourth match running beating Enfield by 3 wickets at Dill Hall Lane but left it until the last ball with 23 coming from the last 2 overs in a frantic finish. Tony Gallagher was the champions hero hitting Peter Holt's final ball for four after the scores were level. Malcolm Taylor hit 36, Peter West 32 and Graham Beech 25 after Enfield had posted 152-7. Dik Abed top scored with 66 and Geoff Dixon hit 41 but Gallagher (3-47) took 3 wickets in an over as the home side collapsed from 135-2. Accrington are still in 4th spot, 13 points behind East Lancs.
