The final double header weekend of the season saw the lead change twice as the leaders struggled under pressure. Accrington went into a clear lead after beating Ramsbottom by 7 wickets at Acre Bottom, Half centuries by Henry Hall (76) and Wasim Raja, who hit three fours and five sixes in an unbeaten 77 helped Ramsbottom pile up 203-4. Brian Fielding (2-37) then removed Peter West (3) and Alan Richardson (1) to reduce Accrington to 14-2 but a 3rd wicket stand of 94 between Geoff Hayhurst (42) and John Swanney put Accrington back in the match. Malcolm Taylor (23) then added 51 for the 4th wicket with Swanney who went on to hit a career best unbeaten 95, which included seven boundaries, as Accrington got home with 1 over to spare. Accrington's victory takes them to 70 points from 24 games.
